Last night’s Saturday Night Live as an all-too-rare howler. This SNL Peyton Manning – United Way commercial is classic.
I’m using saline nose spray to hopefully recover quickly from a sinus infection. As far as I can tell, its working. But – pouring salt water on an open wound or sensitive areas deep inside your nasal & sinus cavities is annoying as all get out.
I’ve begun replacing my light bulbs with compact florescent “swirl bulbs”. Its great GE is making these in lots of sizes and shapes. These bulbs are more expensive than regular bulbs, but apparently their energy savings can pay for themselves in just a few months. How are the bulbs? My advice – compare lumens. In my experience, the “60W equivalent” bulbs are only equivalent if the swirl doesn’t come with a frosted bulb cover. Indeed, one 60W-equivalent swirl bulb with no cover had 50% more lumens than an “equivalent” swirl bulb with no cover. The coverless swirls I put in are working out fine, pleasantly lacking that blue-white florescent -like glowing light. But the covered swirls are nowhere near as bright as they should be, and I’m looking to upgrade those to a higher power swirl.
